Frequently
Asked Questions

We’ve put together the most common questions we get asked about MyDivorce.

If you have a question you can’t find here, please contact us directly for more information.

How is Guided different from Independent?

Guided is for people who are comfortable providing their own information but would like an additional layer of reassurance. Unlike the more independent option, Guided includes a review of your completed application before it is submitted. Please check the package comparison for the full list of included services.

Will someone check my forms?

Yes. With Guided, the MyDivorce team reviews your completed divorce application before submission to help identify missing information or obvious errors. You remain responsible for providing accurate details, and the review is not a substitute for separate advice on finances or children.

Can I ask questions during the process?

Guided includes support connected to completing and submitting your application, within the scope of the package. If your question involves a more complex legal issue or work outside the package, we will explain what additional support may be available.

What happens if my divorce becomes more complicated?

If an unexpected issue arises, let us know as soon as possible. We can explain whether it falls within your current package or whether additional legal support is needed. We will discuss any extra work and fees with you before proceeding.

Is advice about finances included?

No. Guided focuses on the divorce application itself and does not include financial negotiations, financial orders or advice on dividing assets and pensions. We recommend seeking separate legal advice about your financial position, especially before applying for the Final Order.

Need help with
children and
finances?

A divorce legally ends your marriage, but it doesn’t automatically
resolve arrangements for children, property, pensions or finances.

If you’re unsure about child arrangements, financial settlements or protecting
your future interests, our experienced family law solicitors can help.

Whether you need straightforward advice or ongoing legal support, we’ll
guide you through your options and help you make informed decisions
for you and your family.
